Invite & Remove Educators in Your Members Tab
Inviting Members in Your Team Account
-
From your homepage, you find a section to invite team members. You can invite them via 1 of the 2 options below:
- Invite Members: Enter email addresses manually, or copy and paste them into the email bar.
- Using Bulk Invite
- Use the Magic Link (Alternative Option)
✨ Pro Tips:
- Each person will receive an invitation email. To join your Team Plan, they’ll need to click the link in that email.
- The Magic Link is a quick way to invite & onboard a large group of staff to save time. Copy and paste the Magic Link (and optional email template) into your own email. Send it to the recipients you’d like to invite. Anyone who receives the Magic Link can click it to join your Team Account.
Bulk Invite Walkthrough
You can quickly invite multiple users to your Smore for Teams account using the Bulk Invite feature.
Sending Bulk Invites
-
From your Home dashboard, click Bulk Invite.
-
Paste the email addresses of the users you want to invite. You can add multiple email addresses at once. Then click Review Invites.
- You’ll now see exactly who’s invited and why someone isn’t (already a member, duplicate email, etc.). Troubleshoot before hitting send and keep onboarding smooth.
- Click Send Invites when you’re ready.
After your invitations have been sent, you’ll receive email notifications when:
- New members are invited to your Teams account.
- Invite users to accept their invitations and join your team.
What Invited Users Will See
When an invited user signs in to their Smore account, they’ll see a yellow banner at the top of the page notifying them that they’ve been invited to join your Teams account. Click Accept Invitation.
To accept the invitation, they simply need to click Join Now. Once accepted, they’ll automatically be added to your Teams account.
Accessing Member Management
You can manage your members from two places:
- From your Home Page, click Management Dashboard.
- From the top navigation bar, go to the Teams tab and select Members.
FAQs
Q: Who can I invite to my Team Account?
A: You can invite anyone you’d like, teachers, principals, coaches, PTO members, or district office staff. For inspiration on how schools and districts use Smore to communicate, check out the Educator Hive.
Q: How can I remove members?
A: Click the three dots next to the member’s name, then select “Remove.”
Q: A potential team member already has a Smore account. Will they lose their existing newsletters if they join my Team Plan?
A: No. When someone with an existing Smore account (individual plan) joins a Smore for Teams Plan using the same email address, their current account remains intact, along with all their Mailing Lists and newsletters.
The only change is that their account will now have access to Paid Plan features through the Team Plan membership, instead of being limited to a personal plan.
Q: Can a user who is already part of a Smore for Teams account be moved to another Team account?
A: Yes, but the user must first be removed from their current Smore for Teams account before they can join a new one. Once removed, they can accept a new invitation to the other Team account.
Please note: when a user is removed from their original Team account, any newsletters they created there will return to draft form in their individual account. The original published versions, along with analytics, will remain in the original Team account under an Admin or Owner’s folder.
